May is always an incredibly busy month for me at 5 Star Discos. It is when Wedding season really ramps up with a few each week, throw some awards,
communions and christenings into the mix and by time I blink its over and done with.
The month however started with a cautionary tale. I was due to play for a lovely couple at Pollokshields Burgh Hall, Had done the pre Wedding phone
calls a few days before and everything seemed perfectly fine. Roll on to the day before the Wedding and I received a call from the groom,
unfortunately the bride had taken ill and was hospitalised meaning the whole Wedding had to be postponed with 1 days notice. Unfortunately I am not
available on the rescheduled date but did my best to try and help them get a suitable replacement. Luckily the couple had Wedding insurance which
covered them meaning they didn't lose any money already paid. As I always say, please make sure your Wedding is insured and protected.
Later that week I was at House For An Art Lover to help Sharon and John celebrate. These crazy cats started their night with the Vengaboys and it just
got funner and wackier from that point on! Fantastic for a Thursday night.
Then it was onto the Blythswood Hotel for Nicole and A.J.s special day. The room looking stunning decked in my fluid moodlighting and the party goers
danced from start to finish.
Another mid week wedding followed with a quiet Thursday night at Airth Castle. A classy low key event that suited the couples taste perfectly.
Complete 180 U turn the Saturday after as I entertained the ladies from Glasgow University Netball Club for their annual awards. These crazy girls
were dancing and singing in their seats before the meal was finished. Absolute highlight of a night with the students as per usual. See you next year
The month was rounded off with a double header of Weddings. Corrine and Stephen tied the knot at St Andrews In The Square which is a stunning
venue, made to look even better with my uplighting dotted around the room. Rock and indie music got the crowd on their feet and kept them there the
whole night. And lastly just along the road to Crossbaskets Castle for Kirsty and Phils Wedding. This set had everything from classic floor filler pop,
GBX, RNB, soul and everything in between. What a way to finish the month off!
Busy weekend, leavers ball,
Wedding in Edinburgh and my
yearly Awards with Clyde FC
"Hi Graham, What can I say to do you justice? You were absolutely amazing! You had
everybody up on the dance floor the whole night. Everybody has sent messages to
say how much they enjoyed themselves and how wonderful the DJ was. We are so
pleased that you were able to be there for our wedding, You are the talk of the town
from Fintry to London. You really know how to work the crowd and create a brilliant
party atmosphere. I would recommend you to anyone who wants their wedding to be
memorable. You are exactly what you say...", Lorna and Alfie Carson" (via Email)
